RSVL Program
The RSVL Program
The municipality participates in the Réseau de surveillance volontaire des lacs (RSVL), a government program that supports municipalities and organizations in monitoring lake water quality.
We currently have 11 lakes registered in the program. Each summer, the municipality carries out:
-
about 10 water transparency tests (using a Secchi disk) every two weeks from May to October;
-
an annual water sampling, analyzed in the Ministry’s laboratory (phosphorus, dissolved organic carbon, and chlorophyll a);
-
data collection on the shoreline condition and the littoral zone.
These activities help us better understand changes in water quality and guide actions to protect our lakes.
In 2023 a presentation was made about the RSVL Program and the importance to maintain Healthy Bodies of Water.
